Update 5/21
Just a quick update here.. I have been slacking with these updates, taking the easy route and posting just random pics to the the the facebook page. It’s going good, working on the final fairing now.

A whole lot is condensed here… I have been updating the facebook page more often than the website. But I have nearly completed all of the framework for the hull plug, readying it for the next step which will be to add the outer skin.

So after a long time of planning, finally we are about to actually start putting this build together. I’ve begun to CNC cut the template stations for the plug. I’ve got about 35 sheets to cut, but it’s starting off relatively smoothly. A HUGE Thank You to 757 Maker Space https://www.757makerspace.com/ for being instrumental in making this possible. Beau Turner gave Tailwalk Boats a much needed jumpstart, something I will always remember.
Big update! Lease is signed for the shop where the build is going to take place. Buckle up, things are going to get moving now. The address is 123 S First Colonial Rd in Virginia Beach, Suite 102
Just a few new renders that I did myself. They aren’t as colorful as the others but I think they look good.
Been a little bit since I had an update. The current status is taking the design and from that, getting together the build plans for the plugs, molds etc. Here’s a visual of how the hull plug will take shape. All of the stations (cross sections) will be cut with a CNC router and laid out very precisely in order to assure accuracy and symmetry.
I want to make it a point to keep this page updated on a regular basis… Right now it is Spring and in my world that means busy, busy, busy. A lot of people come out of the woodwork right about now, trying to get their boats ready for the summer. I typically end up running around like a crazy person trying to make everyone happy, gettting to as much of it as I can. It’s put a bit of a pause on the catamaran, but this is about over and I will be getting back to it in the next couple weeks.

This is a big moment… the first high quality renders of the Tailwalk 30 CC are here. A lot of work has gone into this and the design has turned out to be even better than I had imagined.
We’ve been using a Yamaha engine in a lot of the early draft images, mainly because that’s what we had a good 3d model of. The final boat will be able to handle a large variety of outboard options, but what we have decided is the top option at this point is the Mercury V10 Verados which come in 350 and 400 hp. The max Yamaha will be a 300hp with their current offerings, as the XTO offshores are just too heavy. Still can’t find a proper V10 model to include in the renders, but I’ve changed to something close enough.

Getting very close to the final design now. At this point it’s really just going over the small details and trying to think of everything.
